Julie Fields, teaching in-studio private sessions.

Julie Fields began her Pilates practice in 2000 and soon realized that Pilates was exactly what her body needed to finally feel both strong and balanced. In 2007 she expanded her interest by completing a certification program through PhysicalMind Institute. At that time Julie was working in the public sector and teaching a few classes during the evenings and on weekends. Knowing she wanted to teach Pilates as her “act two career” Julie completed a second teacher training program to expand her understanding of the Pilates method with an emphasis on physical rehabilitation.  In 2014 she completed Aston Kinetics foundation classes which provided skills in observing and assessing body movement patterns.  Julie is passionate about helping clients find their best body for function and fitness and thinks Pilates is a smart way for achieving physical mobility and stability.  Her goal is to guide clients to move better not only during a session but throughout their day-to-day activities.

Sarah Carrasco, owner. Teaching private pilates sessions and mat classes

A Texas girl, born & raised, I was drawn to movement from a young age through dance. I loved the outlet of dance, studying technique, the practice of dancing regularly and experiencing my body’s transformation into strength and better movement. I was introduced to Pilates in college and realized that with one class a week, my dancing improved immensely. Mystified by this experience, I knew that I would one day become a teacher.

I earned a degree in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University. After college, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in dance & musical theatre. I enjoyed my time performing, but knew that I wanted to have “side” career that was more evolved than waiting tables. In 2007 I got certified to teach Pilates through the Kane School of Core Integration with Kelly Kane. At the Kane School, the emphasis of our studies was on anatomy, biomechanics, and working with special populations & injuries. It was here that I learned how powerful Pilates can be as a healing modality. Soon after graduating from the Kane School, I became an expert instructor and a teacher trainer in the comprehensive mat & basic training programs.

I found so much fulfillment from teaching & helping people that I transitioned out of dance and into a career as a Pilates teacher. I taught professionally in New York City and in Kauai, where I owned & operated a Pilates studio and now I’m in Austin, TX.

While I was first enamored with Pilates as a cross-training modality, it’s through my aches, pains and injuries that I found my path as post-rehab teacher. Throughout my dance career, I suffered multiple injuries, and through each of these injuries, I learned so much. In 2017, after years of hip pain, I underwent an arthroscopic hip surgery to correct a congenital defect that was the cause of the issues. I understand what it’s like to live with pain, go through a surgery and come out the other side wondering how to put myself back together physically, mentally & spiritually.

In addition to my comprehensive certification in Pilates, I’m a Certified Pilates Teacher through the Pilates Method Alliance®. I believe continuing education is key to keeping things fresh and doing my utmost to help clients.

We’d love to understand your goals and help you move toward them.
