FAQs
I’m new to Pilates…where should I start?
We highly recommend starting with privates. We have an introductory private package of 3 sessions, which allows you to get started, learn the basics, meet the teachers and get help with your individual needs and goals. Once you’re finished with your 3 sessions, we can make suggestions for continuing your Pilates practice.
What Should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that allow for ease of movement. If you like to wear shorts, we highly recommend shorts with a liner or bike shorts underneath. We work out barefoot or in grip socks.
What time should I arrive for my class or session?
If it’s your first session, we recommend arriving 5 minutes early to orient yourself with the studio. We do not have a “waiting area,” so please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time or right on time.
How Often should I do Pilates?
Ideally, 2x a week allows for you to maintain and gain the strength, mobility, muscle memory and all the benefits that Pilates brings to you. This can be any combo of privates, duets, or group classes.
What is a duet session?
A duet session is a semi-private Pilates session for 2 people in the studio on the apparatus. If you’d like to schedule duets, please have a duet partner that wants to take sessions with you. Don’t have a partner and would prefer duets? Reach out to us to let us know and we’ll see if we can find a match for you.
What’s the difference between Expert Teachers, Senior Teachers and the Director?
Expert teachers have 1-2 years experience.
Senior teachers have over 2 years experience and/or an advanced degree (PT, LMT) and /or multiple certifications in different modalities (yoga, gyrotonic, etc.).
The Director is the owner of the studio, Sarah Carrasco.
